Shelly Beach 14/3/2025
Max Depth: 8.8 metres
Time: 75 minutes
Temp: 23 degrees Celsius
Shelly Beach is by far my most dived site, and I love it. This dive reminded me why I think the dive site is so special. The water was warm, and the vis was pretty good, so things were already looking up. As we went out towards the motorbike, we were greeted by large schools of Bonito and Mackerel Tuna. After we turned the dive it got awesome. My buddy was shouting through his regulator as I was photographing a Moorish Idol. I looked up and saw some juvenile Dusky Whalers circling. One then darted in and swam right over my shoulder, and I got a great photo of a species I have been trying to get a good photo of for ages. After that we kept seeing more stuff, like a numbray and even the two resident turtles at Shelly Beach, Billie and Basil.

Shelly Beach 21/4/2025
Dive 1
Max Depth: 7.6 metres
Time: 79 minutes
Temp: 23 degrees
Pretty standard Shelly Beach dive on the left hand side. Saw Basil the turtle plus some Giant Cuttlefish and all the usual suspects.

Dive 2
Max Depth: 10.6 metres
Time: 67 minutes
Temp: 23 degrees
Another good dive. Saw Basil again, plus some octopii, the dusky whalers and all the usual suspects, pretty relaxing experience.

Fairy Bower 22/4/2025
Max Depth: 7.8 metres
Time: 65 minutes
Temp: 23 degrees
Nice relaxing dive. Good visibility considering the rain. Spent most of the dive hanging out with Giant Cuttlefish. Also, a ton of tropical fish around and some very large Wobbegongs.

Quarantine Station 28/4/2025
Max Depth: 11.1 metres
Time: 76 minutes
Temp: 22 degrees
Very good dive all things considered. It was raining seriously heavily, and the seas were quite rough outside of the harbour. Haven't done Q Station for ages and never as a shore dive. We started under the jetty and encountered several Grey Nurse Sharks. We then set a bearing south for the wall. The wall was very good, would have justified the dive alone even if there hadn't been Grey Nurses around. Lots of cool critters like Spotted and Banded Wobbegongs, Giant Cuttlefish and Striped Catfish balls. The area definitely warrants further exploration. Went back to the jetty and spent the rest of our air with the Grey Nurse Sharks. Only hitch of an otherwise great dive was the very poor visibility.
