March 2026- Sydney
9/3/2026- The Leap Max Depth: 20.3 metres Time: 47 minutes Temp: 21 degrees above 5 metres, 17 below that. The weather in Sydney has been absolutely horrid recently, so it was nice to be able to jump in (meant very literally in this case). However, for the week preceding this dive, there has been a prevailing easterly swell and north-easterly winds, which in Sydney cause a deep-sea upwelling. This is not good for diving as, inevitably, cold green water gets dragged onto the c

February 2026- Lord Howe Island and Sydney
1/2/26- Rupert's Reef Max Depth: 22 metres Time: 56 minutes Temp: 23 degrees Another Lord Howe Island trip, and what a great way to start it. Rupert's Reef is next to Roach Island. It is a large submerged reef rising from 22 metres up to about 14 metres, with a large crack running from the edge of the reef to the centre of it. The reef is excellent, with lots of hard and soft corals, and large gorgonian fans at the entrance to the crack. Lots of marine life around the site. W

January 2026- Nelson Bay and Sydney
06/01/2026- Fly Point Max Depth: 19.1 metres Time: 55 minutes Temp: 22 degrees First dive of 2026! This is a site I have been meaning to dive for ages, supposedly the best shore dive in NSW. Unfortunately, my Osmo housing fogged during this dive. The dive didn't disappoint, vis was bad in the shallows, but opened up to about 15 metres below 5 metres. The site is covered in snowflake coral, sponges, ascidians and sea tulips, super colourful, probably more colourful than some c

November and December 2025- Sydney
13/11/2025- Clifton Gardens Max Depth: 7.7 metres Time: 80 minutes Temp: 19 degrees This was my first night dive in Sydney for ages. Saw a lot of things I have never seen before. Striped Dumpling Squids, a couple of species of Pleurobranch slugs, a prawn (yes, not all that exciting, but I have eaten many but never seen one on a dive before) and an Eastern Gobbleguts. Also lots of the usual Clifton critters like Seahorses, Tiger Pipefish, bubble snails, a decorator crab, a Blu

September and October 2025- Shellharbour and Sydney
23/09/2025- Fairy Bower Max Depth: 10 metres Time: 70 minutes Temp: 19 degrees This was a very nice dive. We decided to go across the bay from the Fairy Bower entry to the right-hand side of Shelly Beach. It went well, and we ended up at the motorbike. On the way, we saw an octopus and some squid. Once on the motorbike, we saw tons of Port Jackson Sharks. On the way back to Fairy Bower, we found a very large Eagle Ray. 4/10/2025- The Gutter Max Depth: 20.4 metres Time: 49 min

August 2025- Sydney
16/08/2025- The Leap Max Depth: 21 metres Time: 42 minutes Temp: 17 degrees Had been meaning to do the Leap for ages, so it was nice to finally get some flat seas. The vis was rubbish for the first 5 metres, but gradually cleared up to the point where it opened up to about 20 metres at 18 metres. This site is awesome, loads of monolithic walls, canyons and boulders, which form some swim-throughs. Saw an absolutely massive school of big Kingfish, tons of Port Jackson Sharks, t

July 2025- Central Atolls Maldives and Sydney
14/7/2025- Maagari Max Depth: 26 metres Time: 36 minutes Temp: 30 degrees First dive of the Maldives trip. I found a half-priced Maldives liveaboard and booked it. Very exciting for me as I hadn't solo-travelled or done a liveaboard before. Had also bought an Osmo Action 5, so I was keen to take that for a spin. For a check dive, this site was very good. It is essentially a mound of coral rubble, sloping steeply up from about 25 metres to 5 metres, with some blocks of reef of

May and June 2025-Sydney
17/5/2025- Fairy Bower Max Depth: 7.8 metres Time: 84 minutes Temp: 20 degrees Another pretty good dive at Fairy Bower. Water was a bit green but still saw a few eagle rays, plenty of wobbegongs, some Kingfish and all the usual suspects. Also spent some quality time with Basil the turtle. 1/6/2025- Shelly Beach Max Depth- 7.2 metres Time- 70 minutes Temp: 19 degrees Good dive- find it hard to go into detail about my dives at Shelly and Fairy Bower because they always go the s

March and April 2025-Sydney
Shelly Beach 14/3/2025 Max Depth: 8.8 metres Time: 75 minutes Temp: 23 degrees Celsius Shelly Beach is by far my most dived site, and I love it. This dive reminded me why I think the dive site is so special. The water was warm, and the vis was pretty good, so things were already looking up. As we went out towards the motorbike, we were greeted by large schools of Bonito and Mackerel Tuna. After we turned the dive it got awesome. My buddy was shouting through his regulator as

Bushrangers Bay 4/2/2025 Dive 1 Max Depth: 18.1 metres Time: 60 minutes Took a last minute offer to go down to Bushrangers Bay and it did not disappoint. For the first dive, we went straight past the sharks and outside of the bay. Was pretty interesting, saw some Port Jackson Sharks in summer which was nice, a numbray, and a red rock cod with half a live moray eel hanging out of its mouth!!! Once we went back inside the bay, we hung out with the sharks for a bit. Dive 2 Max D

January 2025-Lord Howe Island
North Rock 29/1/25 Max Depth: 31 Metres Time: 37 Minutes North Rock is a dive on Lord Howe Island I had been meaning to do for ages, and it lived up to expectations. The site is on the deeper side for Lord Howe Island, but the bottom is made up of a network of almost lava-tube-like swim-throughs, very cool. The highlight of the dive was a Whitespotted Eagle Ray swimming past, which is extremely rare on Lord Howe Island. South Island Deep 29/1/2025 Max Depth: 23.5 Time: 40 Hav
